Mr. Monirul Hassan is working as a registrar and professor of sociology at university of chittagong. He graduated from university of Dhaka and he did double masters from Sociology at University of Oslo, Norway. Now he is living in Chattogram for his workplace but he has come from Narayanganj, Dhaka.

When he takes class, students can do any question without hesitation that make him great to his students. He always says to his students, “You have to speak out always with me otherwise I don’t feel comfortable because I am to know that whether you understand my class or not”.

A myth is that, he is very passionate about taking his class whatever he is so much busy or not that made him gregarious to his students. He advices to his students always,” To be good human being first rather than being well educated”.

When he was leading role as a proctor at CU, he had to do a lot of administrative work . He did his administrative work meticulously that was noteworthy. From dawn to dusk he was seen to sustain his work persistently. Especially, he was seen at Zero point in the evening time to stave off entering external vehicles that he had to do by standing .

We sought out to know about him from his students. For that , we asked a student whose name is Tashrif, who is pursuing BSS (Economics) at CU. He said,“Monirul Hassan sir is their Sociology course teacher. He always tries to make his lesson interesting and informative as well as understandable to the students”. Tashrif added that as a proctor he had a lot of work but he had never missed his class schedule.

We asked Monirul Hassan why he came back to Bangladesh from Norway; though Bangladesh is a land of natural beauty, Norway is prominent for nocturnal beauty of sun. Then he slightly smiled and answered that Bangladesh is his birthplace and there are so many similarities between the natural beauty of Norway and Bangladesh especially Chattogram.

For that he came back to Bangladesh and joined as a lecturer of sociology at CU. He added that the educational environment as well as the natural beauty of CU attracted him so much to lead his life near Chittagong university area and so there am I.
