UIU Team Wins Gold at 5th Blockchain Olympiad Bangladesh 2024

The “Chain Reaction” of United International University won the Gold Award in the 5th Blockchain Olympiad Bangladesh 2024. The award giving ceremony of the competition was held through online platform recently. 

The competition, which began on June 7, 2024, saw over 200 teams from 120 universities compete in a rigorous preliminary round. Only 30 teams advanced to the final round, which took place from September 03 to 04. The team Chain Reaction was declared the champion at the award ceremony recently, earning the prestigious Prof. Jamilur Reza Choudhury Championship Award.

The team was led by Abu Saleh, a graduate of United International University and consisted of graduates Ahmed Shabab Noor, Samrin Silviya, Enan Israq and F Z Shaoni Shwastika. Their diverse backgrounds and skills further strengthened the team's capabilities. While Enan excels in public speaking, achieving awards in the Toastmasters International Speech contest, Shaoni excels in business model and idea generation for the team. They will represent Bangladesh at the International Blockchain Olympiad (IBCOL) in Amsterdam, Netherlands in November 2024.

This marks the second consecutive year that UIU has qualified for the international competition. In 2023, UIU's Team Apocalypse won the Gold award at IBCOL, establishing the university as a global leader in blockchain technology. Chain Reaction will now have the opportunity to continue this legacy and strive for international recognition.

Bangladesh Blockchain Olympiad (BCOLBD) is a leading national platform that nurtures innovation and talent in blockchain technology. The annual competition is organized in partnership with the Bangladesh ICT Division, BASIS, Bangladesh Computer Council, IBCOL, Technohaven, FBCCI and DU IBA. Its advisory committee comprises top professors and scientists from Bangladesh.
