BRAC University has brought together faculty members, students, and staff to sing the national anthem in unison marking Victory Day.

As the clock struck 12:00pm, the whole Merul Badda campus came to a standstill as “Amar Sonar Bangla” started to be played over the public address (PA) system.

The participants, be it students attending classes, faculty members working away at their desks or staff holding meetings, stopped whatever they were doing at that time to stand up and start singing the national anthem.

The event, titled “Shohosro Konthe Jatiyo Songeet” (national anthem in a thousand voices), aimed to rekindle the spirit of the Liberation War and strengthen the sense of national identity and pride.

Organized by the Office of Communications, Operations, Student Life, and the Department of Architecture, the initiative also aimed to foster unity and solidarity while expressing profound respect and reverence for freedom fighters who gave their lives to achieve Bangladesh’s independence.

Professor Syed Mahfuzul Aziz, Pro Vice-Chancellor of BRAC University, laid emphasis on the importance of such events in instilling patriotism and consciousness about Bangladesh’s birth among students.

“Singing the national anthem marking Victory Day allows us to remember and celebrate our glorious history,” he said.
