Belarus leader claims US arms Ukraine urges Russia toward using

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said Friday that arming Ukraine is pushing Russia toward nuclear weapons.

I believe Americans are pressuring Russia to use the most terrifying weapon. They supply Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelensky's army with long-range missiles. Even missiles that can fly 300 km (186 miles)," Lukashenko said at a Brest military facility.

Moscow must respond if such a missile hits Russian territory, Lukashenko said.

One attack deep into Russia will result in a massive response. Why do we need nuclear weapons? Lukashenko asked.

He warned that escalating tensions could lead Russia to “take out the red button and put it on the table.”

He added that Americans were safe “because they are across the ocean.”
