In the 24 hours leading up to Tuesday morning, six more dengue-related deaths were reported, bringing the total number of deaths from the mosquito-borne illness in Bangladesh this year to 326.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services, 1,370 additional individuals were admitted to hospitals during that time due to viral fever.

Of these, 248 were hospitalized in Dhaka South City Corporation while 259 were admitted to hospitals run by Dhaka North City Corporation.

In various hospitals around the nation, 1, 897 individuals are undergoing treatment.

There have been 67,138 dengue cases documented so far this year.

Dengue was responsible for 1,705 deaths last year, making it the bloodiest year ever. In 2023, 3,21,179 dengue cases and 3,18,749 recoveries were reported by the DGHS.
