Holistic approach crucial to ensure nutrition for all: Speakers
Speakers in a function here today said holistic approach is very crucial to ensure nutrition for all to keep the people physically fit and to build malnutrition free country.
“ Good nutrition helps fuel the human body. For want of nutrition, the people suffer from illness and diseases. So, There is no substitute for nutritious food to stay healthy and to build healthy nation”, they also said.
They made the comments while they were addressing an inaugural session of daylong dialogue on Nutrition at the conference room of SKS Inn, located at Radha krishnapur, a suburb of the district town this morning around 10 am.
World Vision International is continuing a campaign namely ENOUGH across the world. In continuation, World Vision Bangladesh, arranged the dialogue under the campaign for the leaders of different professional groups to promote nutrition among the people of the district.
Jenny Mildred D’ Cruze, deputy director of World Vision Bangladesh formally addressed the function and inaugurated it as the chief guest while area program manager Uttam B. Das presided over the ceremony.
Senior health education officer of Civil Surgeon office here MD. Amirul Islam addressed the session and highlighted the nutrition condition of the district as a resource person.
During the function, the participants in four groups gave their opinions on how to promote nutrition status in the district and in open discussion session, the participants recommended to make the nutrition activities by the organization a grand success in the district.
Earlier, a power point presentation on the subject was done by Tanjimul Islam, advocacy coordinator of the organization.
Deputy Director Jenny Mildred D’ Cruze in her speeches uemphasized the need for conducting awareness activity to the mass people to alleviate malnutrition from the society in the days to come.
She also urged all to build social movement regarding nutrition to ensure nutrition for all to build a health nation.
