
Govt takes a set of decisions to improve law and order
The Home Ministry has taken 16 important decisions to improve law and order situation in the capital city and elsewhere across the country.
"The Home ministry will conduct regular monitoring to enforce the decisions," said a press release of the ministry.
The decisions taken by the Home Ministry to improve the law and order are as follows:
As part of the decision, the home ministry will monitor special operation that has started across the country from February 8, 2025 to capture identified criminals, terrorists, drug dealers and smugglers.
In order to boost the morale of various law enforcement agencies, including the police, a workshop on "Enforcing the Law with Emphasis on Human Rights and the Environment in the Changing Situation of the Country" has been held across the country with the participation of the police, administration, judiciary and public prosecutors.
Heads of various police units, deputy police commissioners, brigade heads deployed in the army field and other responsible officers briefed the media about the decisions taken regarding each incident.
The number of patrols at checkpoints and crime-prone areas has been increased at important points in the capital. Joint forces comprising the army, various police units and BGB are conducting intensified operations in target areas.
In addition to regular patrols, additional patrols by the navy and coast guard have been deployed on important roads in the capital.
Criminals are being arrested by conducting combined operations in robbers, dacoits, juvenile gangs and other crime-prone areas.
Law enforcement agencies have been instructed to take immediate action by updating the list of police station-based terrorists.
Law enforcement agencies have increased patrols around Dhaka city, especially in Tongi, Basila, Keraniganj and Munshiganj areas.
Steps have been taken to purchase motorcycles for DMP police members, BGB, Ansar and Bangladesh Coast Guard members so that they can immediately patrol the alleys and catch criminals.
Taking steps to disseminate true information against lies, rumors and propaganda.
The Home Adviser, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser and Home Secretary and Senior officials of the law enforcement agencies including IGP of Police, DMP Commissioner are inspecting and monitoring police stations, check posts and patrol activities in the early morning and late night.
The Home Adviser has already held meetings with law enforcement department officials in all administrative divisions of the country and has given necessary directions to the law enforcement agencies.
With a view to effectively improving the law and order situation in the Dhaka Metropolitan Area, officials at various levels of the Home Ministry have been given regular duties to monitor the night activities of various check posts and patrol teams formed by various forces.
Case Monitoring Committees have been formed at the district and metropolitan levels to scrutinize cases and identify the real criminals. In this way, innocent people are being protected from harassment in cases.
The cases of the families of the martyrs of the July Revolution are being monitored regularly and seriously so that the real criminals can be identified and brought under the law and justice can be ensured.
The Ministry of Home Affairs is seriously reviewing every incident related to law and order and taking necessary measures.
