Jubo League leader killed in Sundarganj
A leader of Jubo league, an associate organization of Awami league, was stabbed to death by the miscreants this morning.
The victim is identified as Jahidul Islam, 38, son of Abul Hossain, at Boidyanath village under Sonaroy union of Sundarganj upazila in the district. He was president of Jubo League, union unit.
Police and local people sources said , Jahidul and Kabir Mia were going home from Bamondanga by a motorcycle on Sunday around 11:30 pm.
When they reached the Shakhamara Bridge area of Sundarganj-Bamondanga road of the upazila, a group of miscreants intercepted halted their motorcycle by using a rope.
Then, the miscreants stabbed Jahidul and cut the veins of his arms and legs.
They also beat and injured Kabir who was his co-rider. Hearing their screams, local people rushed to the spot, rescued them, and first admitted them to Sundarganj Upazila Health Complex.
Later, when Jahidul's condition deteriorated, the doctor sent him to Rangpur Medical College Hospital, where he died on Monday morning.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sundarganj Police Station KM Azmiruzzaman admitted the truth of the incident and said four suspects have already been been detained for interrogation.
A case was filed with the thana in this connection, sources said.
