Interim government chief has appointed three special assistants

In a notice published in the local gazette on Sunday night, Professor Muhammad Yunus, the chief adviser to the interim government of Bangladesh, announced the appointment of three special assistants with the rank of state minister.

To support the advisers, they have been granted executive authority over the ministries of home affairs, health and family welfare, and education, respectively, under Rule 3B (iia) of the Rules of Business, 1996.

Khoda Baksh Chowdhury, former inspector general of police was given the charge of special assistant to home adviser while Sayedur Rahman, a physician and the incumbent vice-chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University was made special assistant to health and family welfare adviser and Prof M Aminul Islam made special assistant to education adviser.
